Anyone see this coming? I didn't. But that's only because I have no faith in xbox to understand what gamers want:

Well, the one of the reasons I haven't gotten an X-Box One have gone down.

Although I'd still rather get a new scope or stock for one of my rifles instead of any of the next gen consoles. Does that mean I have to turn in some of my geek cred?

Ditto. For many of us, neither system has any true "system seller" games out yet. My first won't come until October at the earliest with "Dragon Age: Inquisition".

With the announcement that came across my 360 dashboard the other day that you dont need to be a gold account user to access hulu plus and netflix and such, I'm actually thinking of dropping my xbox live subscription. Should I turn in my gamer card for that? idk. Its just, now that I'm married, there are so many other things that take up my time. I don't have the money to buy the games I want and don't have the time to play them even if I did.

Before I started dating my wife, I was honestly an addict. I would spend an inordinate amount of time on games, even at work spending most of my time dwelling on them and looking forward to getting home to play them. I spent almost no time on relationships. Now, I just find developing relationships and my skills as an artist and writer more valuable. The only real gaming I do now is on my phone. (Someone needs to come to my house and delete Farmville off of my phone, please, lol)

At this point, I would only ever buy the Xbox One if I needed a new set top box because we use netflix and hulu plus in place of cable. I would love to play games like Destiny and Watch Dogs but I really can't see myself finding the time.

In having talks with my wife about our tv watching habits, I think Ive decided to pursue being a creator and not just a consumer. To me, the metaphor of zombies is a perfect representation of our current culture. Rampant consumerism. I don't want that to be me.

Okay, I'm down off my soapbox. LOL

I'm super pumped about Infamous: Second Son, but the only game that I can think of that would be a system seller for me would be The Last of Us 2.

While we're shooting zombies in a game, you are preparing for the real zombie apocalypse...+1 geek cred! (or maybe you're preparing to go hunting...)

Haha, just paper hunting for the next few years for me more than likely. It depends on my money situation mostly, but I would eventually like to build a gun capable of reaching out past 1000 yards accurately.

...and be able to hit the target, but that's up to the guy squeezing the trigger.
