    Improved Quality For Live Stream!

Post  Paeter on September 30th 2014, 10:53 pm

Worked some more glitches and kinks out after the recent stream (which still went better tha last time I thought!). Did some stream testing throughout today and tried some new tricks. As it stand right now, it looks like I'll be able to have pretty good fidelity video of the game footage as well as MUCH improved picture in picture video quality and voice audio that are almost PERFECTLY synched with the game footage! WOW! NEVER thought I'd figure out how to do that with the limitations in what I have available to me. But multiple prolonged tests today indicate that it will all work out!

I almost felt like posting a sample so those of you who came to the stream can see the dramatic improvement!

I've had too many days of beating my head against the wall troubleshooting and coming up empty. Today, I still beat mt head against the wall a fair amount, but came out VICTORIOUS!!!

I'm capturing the preview image of my Roxio HD Game Capture Pro with Open Broadcaster Software. I need the hardware that comes with the Roxio to get the game video onto my computer, but due to shortcomings in the Roxio software I use OBS to do the rest of the job and stream it to twitch while also recording it.

    You mean the "picture-in-picture"?

Open Broadcaster Software lets you set up a "Scene" with different elements drawn from different sources. You can choose where on your screen those elements appear and adjust their size as well. So I capture the video game footage from Roxio, then capture video from my webcam at the same time but make it smaller and put it in the corner of the Scene.
