    Houdini & Doyle

Here are my thoughts on this summer series (that appears unlikely to get picked up for a second season): http://geekklesia.blogspot.com/2016/07/what-im-grooving-on-summer-2016-edition.html

I'd love to get your thoughts on the series either here or in the blog comments.

Looks like it might be interesting. I've seen somewhere the Doyle and Houdini were friends for a while, but that their friendship eventually soured.

A few years ago, I read a story, a kind of supernatural mystery I guess, about the two of them. I don't remember much about the book, though. I think it was called "What Rough Beast", but I can't for sure remember the author's name.

Your memory is correct regarding the friendship of Houdini & Doyle. They were good friends, until Doyle convinced Houdini to participate in a seance to supposedly conjure up the spirit of Houdini's deceased mother. There were enough discrepancies in the "appearance" that caused Houdini to withdraw his friendship. It is all very sad, actually.

Thanks, I don't think I'd heard the reason why their friendship ended.
