    Pokemon GO

    Post  mikel.withers on July 12th 2016, 8:41 am

    So...I'm catching e-critters. Yup.

Went for a walk last night and saw a bunch of kids sitting outside on of the local Gyms (Library), and a woman spinning one of the Pokestops down the road.
I work at a Pokestop, but I have to go outside to get it.
I also do a ton of walking, but I don't get the GPS signal inside, so that's a bust.

You ever recognize when something you are doing is really inane, but it just seems to keep your attention anyway?
cat Oh look there is one now, time to try to throw Pokeballs at it. Gotta go catch 'em all.

I installed the app yesterday. I know basically nothing about Pokemon, but the augmented reality concept intrigues me.
Haven't quite figured it all out yet though. I keep trying to walk over the top of these things but nothing seems to happen.

I had to look up "how to play Pokemon Go". What a Face

Basically when a pokemon gets in your radar circle you click it, then throw pokeballs at it by swiping your finger from the pokeball to the target circle on it.
When a Pokestop's sign turns purple you can click on it, then swipe across the picture to get items.

I know there is a lot more to the whole thing, but I'll save learning that for another day.

My biggest problem with it is that my phone keeps losing GPS signal and it doesn't know I'm walking around.

Yeah. Clicking was the thing I was missing. Finally decided to try that and suddenly things began to happen. lol.
As game tutorials go it's somewhat lacking.

I'll be honest... I've already cooled to the game.
I suppose I could join a local group, that might help, but it just doesn't grip me.
