    burial procedure

    Post  mikel.withers on December 13th 2016, 10:13 am

A thought struck me this morning as I was arriving at work.
When the Lord calls me home, I want to be buried in a very specific way.
Oh, not because I think it will matter to me how my corpse is disposed of, but because I have a sick sense of humor.
See, at a very young age, I became interested in archeology and anthropology, and the idea of learning about someone by their skeleton fascinated me. Like: English longbowmen's shoulders were different shapes because of the pull weight of their bows, or seeing healed trepanning scars on ancient skulls, or Venetian skeletons buried with a brick in their mouth... stuff like that.

    So...
I want a brick with fang marks in it stuffed in my casket, a stake in my chest, I want the casket lid to be all torn up, and even have a hole "clawed" through it, and I want to be buried as if I had climbed half way through that hole.
In short, I want to give some future archeologist nightmares.
Because I love a good prank.

    edit to add:
    "Here Lies Mike,
    Under a Plank,
    Good Riddance to him,
    Who Loved a Bad Prank"

I want a recording of me saying let me out of here and place in my coffin and have it go off during the funeral.
I want to put the Fun in funeral

Dude, this is amazing. Wish I had the fortitude, and the understanding family, to go through with something like that.

Hmmm, turns out....my wife wasn't thrilled with the concept.
I'll probably end up being more dignified in death than I ever have been in life. ...sigh...

I'm going up in flames or out in a blaze of glory. I'll take cremation.
