    Jewel of The Stars Released

Post  AdamCollings on August 30th 2017, 8:01 pm

I have released my baby into the world!
It's essentially Star Trek meets Battlestar Galactica on a cruise ship. If that sounds like your cup of tea, it's discounted to a launch price of $0.99 for the next week or so. Then it'll go up to $2.99.

    The Cruise is Over
Haylee was more confident designing starships than raising an autistic child. She just wants a relaxing holiday with her family. But when Earth falls to an alien armada, she knows life will never be the same again.

Les was just a cruise ship captain. Now, he must rise up and become something greater, if he is to keep his crew and passengers alive.

Braxton never wanted to leave the space navy, but now, taking a cruise is the only way to feel the stars around him. This crisis may be his ticket to regaining the life he thought was gone forever.

Can they overcome their differences and save everyone on the ship?

If they reach unexplored space, they might yet survive, but an unstoppable enemy stands in their way…

Earth’s Remnant is the thrilling pilot to an episodic space opera – Jewel of The Stars by Adam David Collings. Join the crew as they fight for survival against the wondrous backdrop of the unknown. What else will they find hiding among the stars?

Congratulations! Really cool how you're able to draw from your personal experience on a unique subject.

With autism, I mean. Unless... you haven't been to space, have you?

    Space? No comment. Shocked

lol. There are a couple of things that have been inspired by my experiences.
    * Raising an autistic son. Autism is such a varied and individual thing. The character is kinda built using my son as a template in that regard. Not saying he will always be a carbon copy, butin terms of the way the autism affects him, and I guess, to a smaller extent, how an older sister deals with it.
    * Being made at redundant at work (which in my cases lasted all of two weeks before they called me back!)

and one that is borrowed from my future
    * Holidaying on a cruise ship.

    Now mine too!
Is there anywhere I can get the prequel The Fall of the HMAS Adelaide? One of your Amazon reviews mentioned it.

Here's my review on YouTube. Your book is the first in a new series I've started.

Interesting that you mentioned The Love Boat.
I have jokingly thought of the story as "Star Trek meets Battlestar Galactica meets The Love Boat", but decided not to market it that way, as it might not attract the correct audience (people may assume it is a romance).

It's a cruise ship so my 40-something-year-old brain immediately made the connection.
