How Ron Moore's Star Trek experiences influence Battlestar Galactica

Interesting article about how the boundary-pushing of Deep Space Nine, and Ron Moore's ideas of what Voyager could have been, inspired his vision for Battlestar Galactica.

I would have loved to see damage to Voyager remain from episode to episode. But as far as the suits were concerned, as Marty McFly said, "I guess you guys aren't ready for that, but your kids are gonna love it."

Haven't checked out the link yet, but I've listened to all the podcast commentaries Moore did for BSG, and in those he talked a few times about how his work on Star Trek led to BSG. It really surprised me that someone from Trek would create something like the tone BSG has, but maybe it shouldn't have. Creative types often like to change up styles and tones over the course of their careers.
