    Don't forget good works!

Post  Hackmodford on November 12th 2010, 12:55 pm

We just had a bible study about how grace works and how some Christians use it as an excuse to do "whatever they want" because they're "saved by grace, and not by works lest you should boast"

I think the problem is people can take that scipture and make it an occasion for the flesh.

Now don't take me wrong, but me doing good works is NOT going to get me into heaven. It's just a natural extension of being a Christian.

The Bible says show me your faith without works and I'll show you mine by my works Very Happy

Yes, definitely. You do good works *because* you're saved, not in order to be saved. Anyone who claims they can live however they want is being presumptuous of they're salvation and treating it lightly.

We are to be separate from the world. Romans 6 and pretty much the whole book of James come to mind and make it very clear that our goal as Christians should be sanctification.

Though I fail at this miserably, ultimately that should be my goal.
