Post  cleireac on February 10th 2012, 5:02 pm

By this I mean films released before 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). Here is a list I've started. Feel free to add others.

    Der Golem (1920)
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920)
    Nosferatu (1922)
    Phantom of the Opera (1925)
    Metropolis (1927)
    Frankenstein (1931)
    Dracula (1931)
    The Mummy (1932)
    White Zombie (1932)
    The Wolfman (1941)

    I've only seen:

    Frankenstein (1931)
    Dracula (1931)
    The Mummy (1932)
    The Wolfman (1941)

I really do need to get around to seeing that Metropolis Movie!

I know that Nosferatu and White Zombie are available from the Internet Archive. I've found nearly all of the other silent flicks freely available online at other locations.

They are absolutely worth seeking out.
