    Your Top 5 Websites!

    Post  Paeter on June 25th 2012, 5:06 pm

    I know, this sounds like it should be a thread in the Fan Zone. Actually, I'm collecting data for my website designer and I'd love to get your help! (You're also a little more likely to enjoy the new site if you give me your feedback on this.)

    I'm not looking for the websites representing your favorite things in life, but rather the websites you most often visit or spend time on. (Other than any websites Spirit Blade Productions runs.)

    I'll start with my top five:

    (In no particular order)

    1. boardgamegeek.com
    2. amazon.com
    3. youtube.com
    4. gamespot.com
    5. redbox.com

    Other than my email, school, and clients, you mean?

    * Netflix
    * Paperback Swap / Swap A DVD
    * Amazon
    * Internet Archive
    * Public Library

    Facebook
    YouTube
    Internet Movie Data Base (IMDB)
    Screen Rant
    swagbucks.com

    Does e-mail services count? Cuz then gmail would probably be among them.

    Hmm, besides email, Google, and SpiritBlade (as well as a couple other communities)...

    1) IMDb.com is definitely up there.
    2) Wikipedia.
    3) Amazon.
    4) Google Plus is my preference on social networking, but do hit FB occasionally just because I have more friends there.
    5) Biblegateway.com and YouVersion.

    How'd I forget Netflix?? That's definitely in my top 5. Boxofficemojo.com is a fun site, but can't say it's in my top five frequently visited sites.

    In no particular order:

    foxnews.com
    facebook.com
    xbox.com
    hulu.com
    live.com

    I know, I should probably visit a lot more geek sites, but seems time doesn't always allow.

    For these mysterious data-collecting purposes, you are not graded on the geekiness of your answers.

    Thanks!

    Sweet, you can add me in Google+. What part of G+ are you confused about? If you make a post, you can make it public, to all your circles, or to just specific circles. Then same thing with viewing posts....you can see posts from everyone you're following, or just specific circles. Maybe that helps a bit. If not, just lemme know.

    Yep, I added you!

    I guess what I mean is that I haven't quite figured out all of what it can and can't be used for yet. I'm specifically wondering about the hangout function, which I'd like to try sometime. Do you know what the limit is for people in a single hangout?

    Hmmm, for me it'd probably be

    1. Facebook
    2. SFdebris.com (A humorous review of assorted sci-fi, but be warned his language or content isn't exactly the cleanest)
    3. YouTube
    4. Amazon
    5. Wiki

    Honorable mentions Google Plus, XKCD, Terminal Lance, BlueLetterBible.org, and Bible Gateway

    It looks like G+ Hangouts will hold up to 10 people total (unless you're doing a broadcast) - http://www.google.com/+/learnmore/hangouts/. I'd be glad to try it out with you; let's just setup a time.

    Keep me in the loop on it too. If I'm not stuck doing Air Force stuff I'd be down like a feather pillow.
